Ireland Holiday Home Rentals

Ulusker is the name of an especially scenic land area located in the parish of Adrigole in West Cork. We named our home Tir na Nog* for the Gaelic mythical land of youth, where one never grows old. You will find that this newly constructed home is the perfect haven to relax and enjoy the beautiful countryside of West Cork, a virtual paradise for hikers, photographers, sea kyackers and casual sight seers.

Located in the foothills of the Caha Mountains, you'll find yourself surrounded by panoramic views, within a half mile of Bantry Bay, only two miles from the world famous Healy Pass and only a stone's throw away from the famed Beara trail. Tir na nOg has three large comfortable bedrooms. Its living room is a cozy place to gather by the fire. Upstairs is the master bedroom and bathroom with sitting room and three great windows overlooking the incredible views of green fields and the waters of historic Bantry Bay.

The house is equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. One double bed upstairs plus a futon couch in the sitting room that can serve as a double bed plus four single beds in two bedrooms downstairs.

All the modern conveniences like dishwasher and washing machine make tidying up a breeze; if you want to eat out, you can take a short walk up the road to Mossies Restaurant. Here you will find a bar and fine dining with large grounds for outside seating in fair weather.

The area is one of extraordinary beauty on the scenic Beara Peninsula. Here Bantry Bay touches the coastline for over 35 miles of breathtaking views. Glengarriff, a colorfull local village, is just up the road with live music in many of the pubs and a great selection of restaurants. The fishing village of Castletownbear is just a few miles down the penninsula on your way to visit the Tibetan Buddist Retreat Center and the famous cable car to Dursey Island. Garnish Island and Glengarriff National Park have spectacular forests and flowers as they were planted more than 120 years ago with exotic foliage from all over the world. If you love fishing, hiking, boating, bicycling or golfing this area has what your heart desires. There are 213 ancient ceremonial sites of which three of them are just up the road from the house. You can take a nice walk down to the local swimming beach and if you love to sail there is a wonderful sailing center just down the road. Or visit the resident seals on a wonderful half- or full-day sea kayaking venture. Or on a quiet day enjoy tea and scoe at the up-scale Adrigole Arts shop followed by a breathtaking drive over Healy Pass to enjoy the home cooking at Josie's B&B.

Tir na Nog* at Ulusker is a place you will call your home. It is a slice of heaven here on earth.

*The gaelic version of the name is spelled Tir na nOg.
