House Rentals In Ireland - Seafield House

One of our house rentals in Ireland is located on the Beara Peninsula In the Village of Adrigole, West County Cork, Seafield is named simply for how the house sits. This Ireland house rental is a lovely, three bedroom home with a stone and brick front overlooking the sea with a huge green field stretching in front of it.

Here you are truly in a private place of incredible beauty. There are no homes around you, just huge stretched of rolling fields dotted with wildflowers. Along the side of the house is a boreen (a small dirt road) that is lined with wildflowers and ends on a grassy slope overlooking a lighthouse and the beach which abounds sea life including the famous Bantry Bay mussels and highly prized periwinkle snails. Seals swim nearby as the waves lap against the stone.

This newly built house was specially constructed with artifacts from historical sites. The nuns of Kenmare well known for their famous lace making had an auction, and from this auction many furniture pieces and stain glass windows were bought. They fill the nooks and crannys of the house. Old door and shutters were cut up and sanded and formed into the lovely antique pine kitchen that has lovely dish rack, built in pantry, dishwasher and convenient cutting board made from an old piece of bog pine.

The house rentals main living room at Seafield has a beautiful shaped oak door from an old Irish Church that opens to a slate fireplace for warm nights by the fire. Bay windows overlook the sea and the large bedroom that is off the downstairs has an antique stove and French doors that open to a patio and the sea. A bathroom with jet shower, big enough for two, makes getting clean a fun experience!

In the kitchen the French windows overlook famous Hungry Hill, a mountain that is famous for its huge waterfall and its mysterious ancient history. You will find over 203 ancient sites located on the Beara Peninsula, and many have never been explored by archeologists. There are wonderful walking trails, mountains to climb, plenty of biking, sailing, horseback riding and ocean and fresh water fishing (trout and salmon).

You will lack for none of our modern conveniences in the rustic setting of Ireland of years ago so characteristic of the picturesque village of Adrigole.

Seafield, one of our house rentals in Ireland, is perfect for 2 to 6 people and rents for $1,200.00/week (USD) in July-August and $1,100/week (USD) during the other months for 2 people. Each additional person is $100.00 USA dollars up to 6. Check-in and check-out are on Saturday unless special arrangements are made.

A Post Script from Carey: The Beara Peninsula is the unknown part of Ireland. To myself and to my guests I have heard over and over that it surpasses that of the famous Ring of Kerry. I'll let you decide. With five golf courses within a 45 minute drive, trout and salmon fishing, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding, fine dining, superb shopping and hundreds of ancient sites, castles, mountains, rugged sea coasts and the best pubs in the world.
