Ireland Vacation Rentals Q&A

An Irish Vacation

To My Guests:

Here are a few questions and answers that may help you make your decision on renting one of our homes.

How do we rent a cottage?

Contact Carey by email or phone to ask about availability.

On the website there is a rental contact. You download the contract fill it in and mail it to Carey Conrad(Phone: 414-581-5868) if you are in the states or Carey Conrad(Phone: 027-60116) if you are in Europe . A deposit in euros for Europe or dollars in America should accompany that rental agreement. Eden and Seaside rent Friday to Friday. Seafield rents Sat to Sat. There is a currency converter for those who need to send euros. A bank draft or cashiers check drawn on a bank is the best way to pay.

How are the houses appointed?

All of the houses have a washer and dryer. The beds will all be made for you and there will be extra linens and plenty of towels for your use. The only thing you need to bring is your food. Eden and Seafield have dishwashers and two fireplaces in each house. There are hairdryers in each house. You will need to supply the wood which can be bought at the local grocery store if you want to build a fire. There are books inside the houses telling you about places of interest to visit. Our houses are beautifully furnished and there are many paths to follow taking you down roads winding along the oceans edge. Carey will call on you if she is available and let you know what is happening in the area.

Where is Adrigole?

Adrigole is a country village located on the Beara Peninsula in W. Cork Ireland . It is one peninsula down from the famous ring of Kerry. Adrigole has many small pubs and grocery stores. A beautiful art gallery, fine restaurant and a sailing center are just a few of the wonderful things to visit in Adrigole.

Close to the Cork/Kerry border Adrigole is a central location for day trips to Kenmare, Killarney, Blarney , Cork and all the beautiful seaside villages that dot the coastline of Cork .

Closest Airport to the houses:

The closest airport is Cork . It takes 1 ½ hours to drive from Cork to Adrigole.

Shannon is 3 ½ hours drive away. The drive is lovely and takes you through Killarney National Forest . Many people fly into Dublin and take a smaller flight through Ryan Air or Aerlingus to Cork . If you want to take the train you can fly into Dublin and then take a train to Cork and rent a car at the airport.

Do we have to rent a car?

There is public transport by bus and train going from Shannon to Glengarriff the closest village to Adrigole. You can take a small bus locally into towns and into Cork but the best bet is to rent a car and see all of the sites on your own. The adventure of exploring the rugged Beara is wonderful. So many of my guests have found things I did not know about, usually when they got lost! There are never any traffic jams, and none of the roads are straight so don’t look at a map and think you will get there fast as that never happens in Ireland .
